About ForecastWatch
Accuracy Matters. We Prove It.
We don’t predict the weather. We predict the predictors.
In a world where every smartphone has a weather app, the question isn’t “What’s the temperature?” It’s “Who can I trust?” At ForecastWatch, we provide the answer through rigorous, independent, and large-scale weather forecast auditing.
Why We Do It
Weather affects nearly every sector of the global economy—from energy and agriculture to logistics and retail. A 2-degree error might seem small, but across a supply chain or a power grid, it can cost millions.
We started ForecastWatch because we believed that transparency drives improvement. By holding forecast providers accountable, we help them get better, and we help businesses make decisions based on data, not luck.

About Our Process
We maintain the world’s largest database of weather forecasts and actual observations. Our proprietary systems ingest millions of data points daily from global providers like AccuWeather, The Weather Channel, MeteoBlue, and more.
Massive Scale: We track thousands of locations worldwide.
Scientific Rigor: We use industry-standard and custom metrics to evaluate temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and more.
Unbiased Analysis: We have no “skin in the game” other than the truth. We aren’t a weather provider; we are the objective benchmark.
Our Origins
Founded in 2003 by Eric Floehr, ForecastWatch was born out of a simple realization: meteorology is a science, but without a scorecard, it’s hard to see the progress. What began as a tool to help consumers find the most accurate local forecast has evolved into the premier B2B auditing service for the meteorological industry.
For over two decades, we have been the “gold standard” that providers use to market their accuracy and that enterprises use to mitigate weather-related risk.
